Allogenic Regenerative Medicine
Products in this category include:
Stem Cell Conditioned Media – from various cell origins such as mesenchymal bone marrow stem cells, adipose tissue stem cells and fibroblasts.
Exosomes derived from human cell lines (plant based and animal-based exosomes cannot communicate with human cells).
DISADVANTAGES OF AUTOLOGOUS AND ALLOGENIC METHODS
All of the above methods use human-derived cells and therefore the quantity of growth factors and cytokines, their type and combination, are NOT KNOWN. Despite this fact, these products are used for several different indications, with no guarantee of the activity and effect they will have at the patient’s application site.
500 DALTON RULE
The growth factors and cytokines contained in these products are too large to penetrate the skin, as per the 500 Dalton Rule, which states that molecular weights of more than 500 Daltons cannot penetrate the skin barrier.
Factors to help penetrate skin barrier: Lipophilicity, pH, stability and the molecules ability to bind to others.
